Merrill C. Meigs Field Airport (IATA: CGX, ICAO: KCGX)
Chicago Meigs Field was once the busiest single-strip airport in the country, it appeared in computer flight simulators and games and had the beautiful Chicago skyline in the background.
The airfield has since been converted into Northerly Island park, with beautiful public walks and prairie grasses. The park offers visitors the same panoramic view of the Chicago skyline and overlooks Lake Michigan.
For those interested in the history of Chicago Meigs Field, the terminal building still stands, and
is open to the public with exhibits inside.
